Title: Workday Talent Lead
Location: Remote (monthly travel)

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Workday Talent Lead. The Workday Talent Lead owns the strategy, design, configuration, and adoption of Workday Talent & Performance—and, if in scope, Recruiting—to enable talent acquisition, goals/feedback, performance reviews, succession, and career development. role partners with human resources (HR), information technology (IT), finance, and project stakeholders across service lines to align solutions with broader Human Capital Management (HCM) and business objectives to translate talent strategy into scalable workflows, security, and analytics. Success is measured by on-time delivery, configuration quality, user adoption, faster talent cycle times, and demonstrable data accuracy across talent reviews and succession pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and roadmap for Workday Talent & Performance and, if included, Recruiting, aligning solutions to talent acquisition, performance, succession, and development objectives
- Design and configure business processes, security groups, condition rules, and calculated fields for goals, feedback, reviews, calibration, and succession
- Stand up Skills Cloud, job profiles, and talent review frameworks (e.g., 9-box calibration) to support internal mobility and succession readiness
- Build dashboards and reports with Workday Report Writer and discovery boards to track pipelines, performance cycles, and agreed talent KPIs
- Orchestrate delivery from discovery and fit-gap through configuration, data conversion, SIT (system integration testing), UAT (user acceptance testing), cutover, and stabilization
- Partner with HRIS and integration teams on touchpoints with ATS/job boards, background screening, and learning systems using EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builders) where needed
- Establish change management, training, and knowledge transfer plans for managers, employees, and HR business partners to drive adoption
- Govern release management and tenant strategy, including migration to production and post-release regression testing
Skills Required
- Deep knowledge of Workday Talent & Performance objects: goals, feedback, check-ins, performance reviews, talent cards, calibration, succession pools and plans
- Hands-on configuration of Workday Recruiting or equivalent talent acquisition workflows (requisitions, postings, offers, onboarding) when in scope
- Proficiency with Workday security model, domain policies, role-based access, and approval chains
- Strong Workday reporting skills: Report Writer, calculated fields, matrix/composite reports; discovery boards preferred
- Experience with Skills Cloud, job catalogs, and job architecture alignment
- Familiarity with data conversion and mass updates via EIB and spreadsheets
- Ability to translate business requirements into configuration stories, test scripts, and acceptance criteria
- Proven defect triage, change control, and release management discipline across multiple environments
- Understanding of analytics and audit needs; able to define performance and succession KPIs and dashboards
- Excellent documentation and training development tailored to HR, managers, and end users
Education & Work Experience
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) with focus on Talent & Performance and/or Recruiting
- Current Workday certification in Talent & Performance (and/or Recruiting); additional Workday certifications a plus
- Led at least 1 full lifecycle Workday releases or deployments in Talent & Performance
