We have partnered with our client in their search for a Workday Developer (Financial Data Model Lead). The Workday Developer (Financial Data Model Lead) owns the design, build, and governance of Workday's Financial Data Model (FDM) within a Workday Financials (FIN) transformation for an insurance brokerage. The role partners with Finance, Accounting, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), and IT to deliver reporting, integrations, and controls leveraging Prism Analytics, Adaptive Planning, and Accounting Center. Success is measured by a scalable FDM, accurate and timely reporting, stable integrations, and an on-time cutover with effective post-production support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of the Workday Financial Data Model, including dimensions, hierarchies, ledger accounts, and mappings
  • Architect and develop integrations using Workday Studio and XSLT to connect Workday Financials with upstream and downstream systems
  • Configure and govern Accounting Center rules to transform operational data into accounting entries
  • Build advanced reports and dashboards; model data pipelines in Prism Analytics and planning models in Adaptive Planning
  • Facilitate design workshops with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A; document decisions and maintain standards
  • Orchestrate data conversion, validation, and reconciliations for chart of accounts and FDM hierarchies
  • Plan and execute cutover, go-live readiness, and hypercare; transition to steady-state post-production support
  • Collaborate with project management to manage scope, risks, and timelines across workstreams

Skills Required

  • Expertise with Workday Financials (FIN) and Financial Data Model (FDM) concepts, structures, and governance
  • Proficiency building integrations with Workday Studio and XSLT; familiarity with JavaScript for transformation logic
  • Experience with Prism Analytics for data ingest, modeling, and reporting
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning model design and administration
  • Working knowledge of Accounting Center configuration and rule maintenance
  • Advanced Workday reporting skills, including calculated fields and composite or matrix reports
  • Experience leading multi-stakeholder workshops and producing clear design documentation
  • Demonstrated delivery of post-production support in enterprise environments
  • Understanding of ERP and financial control practices with the ability to design auditable processes
  • Industry exposure in insurance or other regulated sectors such as healthcare, transportation, education, or manufacturing

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Workday developer delivering Workday Financials implementations and enhancements, including FDM and complex integrations
  • Experience supporting post-production operations for large or multi-entity enterprises
