Title: Workday Core HCM/Onboarding Lead
Location: Remote (monthly travel)

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Workday Core HCM/Onboarding Lead. This role will lead Workday Core Human Capital Management (HCM) implementations and oversee enterprise resource planning (ERP) advisory engagements across multiple clients. Partner with HR, Finance, and IT/Security stakeholders to design Core HCM foundations—organizational structure, job profiles, positions, worker data, and business processes—and guide delivery through go-live and stabilization. Success is measured by on-time, on-budget delivery, strong data integrity and security compliance, and measurable end-user adoption across Workday applications
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Workday Core HCM implementations across organizational structure, job profiles, positions, worker data, and business processes
- Oversee day-to-day enterprise advisory engagements, including Core HCM process design, configuration, implementation lifecycle support, and formal project reviews
- Govern scope, schedule, and budget to meet engagement financial and cost management policies and key performance indicators
- Establish and enforce data integrity and security standards across Workday Core HCM, including role-based access and approvals
- Drive testing strategy and execution (unit, end-to-end, user acceptance) and manage defect triage
- Facilitate requirements and design workshops; translate business needs into configuration and testable acceptance criteria
- Develop and maintain client-ready documentation, configuration workbooks, and knowledge transfer materials
- Mentor junior consultants and coordinate with HR, Finance, and IT/Security to ensure operational readiness and adoption
Skills Required
- Expertise configuring Workday Core HCM foundational elements (organizational hierarchy, job profiles, positions, worker data, business processes)
- Strong understanding of ERP concepts related to worker data management and business process orchestration
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining Workday security, including role-based permissions and approval workflows
- Proficiency across the implementation lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare
- Ability to conduct project reviews and remediate risks/issues using formal governance methods
- Demonstrated capability managing engagement financials, scope, and change control
- Advanced written and verbal communication; produces client-ready, publication-quality documentation
- Analytical problem solving with emphasis on data quality, reconciliation, and auditability
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in HR, Finance, and IT/Security
- Exposure to Workday Financials; related certification preferred
Education & Work Experience
- Relevant degree in information systems, human resources, business, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in ERP/HCM implementations, including configuration and upgrades of Workday Core HCM
- At least one full-cycle Workday Core HCM implementation
- Workday Core HCM Certification required; Workday Financials certification a plus
