Workday Benefits Consultant

Overview

We are looking for a senior Workday Benefits Consultant to join a mature global Workday environment and take ownership of Benefits configuration, support, change and continuous improvement.

This is a high-priority capability area, with a strong focus on finding an experienced Benefits specialist who can operate independently and add value from day one.

The successful candidate will have deep, hands-on Workday Benefits experience, including proven ownership of Open Enrolment, and will be comfortable supporting complex, multi-country Benefits environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Workday Benefits module end-to-end across BAU, change requests and project delivery.
  • Configure and maintain Workday Benefits functionality in line with business and country-specific requirements.
  • Manage and support:
    • Benefit Plans
    • Eligibility Rules
    • Coverage Types
    • Benefit Groups
    • Rates
    • Enrolment Processes
    • Life Events
    • Dependants
    • Beneficiaries
  • Take ownership of Open Enrolment, including configuration, testing, issue resolution and deployment.
  • Support ongoing Benefits activity within a live production environment.
  • Work closely with Benefits, HR, Payroll, HR Technology and wider business stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve configuration and operational issues.
  • Assess downstream impacts and dependencies across Payroll and third-party/vendor integrations.
  • Support the introduction and expansion of Benefits functionality into new countries.
  • Translate business requirements into effective Workday configuration.
  • Manage configuration changes through requirements, design, build, testing and deployment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Benefits processes, configuration and the overall employee experience.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and address them before they become operational problems.
  • Contribute to wider Workday projects and transformation initiatives where Benefits expertise is required.

Experience & Technical Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 6 years' Workday experience, with 10+ years preferred.
  • Deep, hands-on experience configuring Workday Benefits.
  • Strong practical experience across:
    • Benefit Plans
    • Eligibility Rules
    • Coverage Types
    • Benefit Groups
    • Rates
    • Enrolment Processes
    • Life Events
    • Dependants and Beneficiaries
  • Proven Open Enrolment experience is essential.
  • Experience working within a global or multi-country Workday Benefits environment.
  • Strong understanding of Benefits dependencies with Payroll and vendor integrations.
  • Experience working across BAU, change requests and project delivery.
  • Ability to operate independently and take ownership of Benefits activity with minimal supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
