About this Position:
Reporting to the VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, the main function and requirement for the Western Regional Sales Manager role will be new application development, while still encompassing all aspects of Sales. Experience working in the metals industry preferred.
This position involves working closely with OEM manufacturers in aerospace, power generation, filtration and automotive industries as well as internal engineers developing new material configurations to meet specific application requirements across these market places.

- Manage an assigned group of customers; grow a knowledge base of customer's business and products; develop and maintain long-term customer relationships; introduce new products and services to customers
- Identify business opportunities with both new and existing customers; develop and execute sales plans to obtain business and achieve revenue objectives
- Meet or exceed sales targets through a direct sales process; develop both short-term and long-term sales objectives; execute on objectives
- Liaison between the external customer and internal departments (Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality) to ensure customer needs are met
- Perform all aspects of the sales process, including but not limited to: identify potential opportunities, manage existing and new customer relationships, create and collaborate with the organization's supporting functions
- Providing technical assistance and material samples on new opportunities
- Create and manage a detailed business plan including a thorough summary of individual end user business drivers, goals, strategic initiatives, competitor assessments, and target market. Business plan should also articulate the sales strategy and include specific actions to capture all available customer opportunities
- Monitors competitor products & industry activities and assists with sales and marketing activities.
- Meet annual growth plans and operating profit margin targets for product line

Additional Responsibilities:

- Participate in cross functional groups to assist with marketing campaigns, product direction, productive solutions and attend industry tradeshows. Develop and nurture strong relationships with customer contacts and industry influencers
- Coordinate annual trade show schedule with Marketing Manager; assist in developing new technical literature; attend trade shows to promote products and establish new leads
- Manage the Contacts and Opportunity Modules in CRM system to make sure input information is accurate and up to date; Continually update and report on Opportunity Sales Funnels and Forecast projections
- Conduct competitor analysis
- Assist with new content including technical information, white papers, press releases and blog postings
- Follow up on new leads generated through trade magazine advertising or through industry portals
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS degree in Engineering, mechanical or electrical preferred
- 5+ years’ of experience in aerospace industry, preferably working with metals and an understanding of how they are used in a variety of vertical markets along with an emphasis on product development in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years’ of experience in account management and new application development in an engineering/technology environment from a Sales perspective
- Ability to review, access, and make recommendations within customer specifications/drawings
- Up to 50% Domestic Travel
- Outgoing personality with the ability to easily build strong working relationships with customers
- Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with AS9100 & ISO9001 Quality programs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
