SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Warehouse Manager will develop and lead a competitive warehousing, distribution strategy to ensure products are delivered on time to the customer in a safe work environment. Responsibilities include: budget and resource planning, effective freight & logistics planning, inventory control, implementing LEAN initiatives for improving quality and performance of processes, successfully meeting demand-driven scheduling, recommendations and justification for capital expenditure, safety, effective staffing and employee development. This position will manage all warehouse and logistics operations employees and will work with other departments to deliver optimal results.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular Functions include:
- Develop, recommend, and execute long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives to deliver results.
- Assist to develop and execute a competitive warehousing, transportation, logistics, and distribution strategy with a logistics plan and procedures to ensure quality parts are delivered to the customer in a cost-effective manner.
- Lead efforts to develop, implement, and maintain a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor and optimize material handling, including packaging and storage.
- Develop and recommend a budget to support of all resource requirements including capital expenditures, manpower, facility and machine requirements. Manage costs to approved budget.
- Develop, recommend, and execute a manpower plan to recruit, train, coach and evaluate staff. Ensure all established processes are followed (e.g. hiring, training, performance management, etc.).
- Provide a safe work environment for all employees, ensuring all safety policies and procedures are in place, implemented and followed. Ensure housekeeping in facility is best in class using 6s principles.
- Develop and implement a plan for facility layout to drive LEAN product flow.
- Lead the management & control of inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
- Understand and comply with international, federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; be the subject matter expert on domestic and international freight & logistics.
- Establish, implement and monitor KPIs for safety, service level, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Assist in IPD’s effort to maintain ISO certification, ensuring all SOPs are in place and are followed.
- Work with the leadership of other departments to ensure optimal results.

Leadership Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop direct and indirect labor associated with all Manufacturing functions.
- Plan for and assist with employee development programs and ensure performance objectives are outlined and completed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Work with Human Resources for coaching, counseling and corrective actions.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor degree
- Minimum 8 years of experience in distribution, logistics.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience with diverse manufacturing operations
