Vulnerability Management Analyst (Cyber Security)

Rate: £500 - £550 Inside IR35

Location: Remote First

Overview

We are seeking a contract Vulnerability Management Analyst to support the operational delivery of enterprise cyber security services. This is a hands-on role focused on executing vulnerability management activities, improving automation, and translating technical findings into actionable remediation guidance for IT teams.

You will operate as a key "doer" within the Vulnerability Management function during a period of team stabilisation and capability improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate enterprise vulnerability scanning tools, with a strong focus on Tenable (Nessus, Tenable.io, Tenable.sc).
  • Run scheduled and ad-hoc scans, ensuring accurate coverage and data extraction.
  • Analyse vulnerability findings and translate them into clear, practical remediation guidance for IT resolver groups.
  • Work with data and reporting teams to provide clean, reliable data for dashboards (e.g. Power BI).
  • Identify manual or repetitive tasks across the vulnerability lifecycle and automate them using scripting and APIs.
  • Maintain day-to-day vulnerability operations, including SLA management, ticket routing, and false positive investigation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise vulnerability management tooling, particularly Tenable.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell), including API usage.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Ability to assess technical risk beyond CVSS scores and communicate remediation clearly to non-security IT teams.
  • Self-starter able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
