Lucas Group has partnered with a respected building materials manufacturer on their search for an accomplished Vice President of Supply Chain (Logistics) to lead the transformation of the corporate supply chain organization.
The Role:
The Vice President of Supply Chain (Logistics) will be responsible for the transformation of the supply chain organization to operate more efficiently and cost effectively.
Lead selection of and negotiations with truckload carriers and rail services to expand the carrier base available is all the national regions.
Oversee performance of the carriers.
Optimize national distribution network – identify which distribution points should be eliminated and others opens to best serve client needs in the most cost-effective manner.
Oversight of inventory across distribution points nationally to ensure sufficient inventory levels to meet demand.
Work with internal stakeholders to develop a robust Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Lead the procurement function for raw materials and supplies
Ensure SAP is being effectively utilized across the organization.
Lead/Develop a team of up to 11 logistics, procurement and planning personnel in cost effectively securing and delivering services ad product.
Through excellent leadership and communications skills, this role will ensure cross functional business objectives are reflected in the supply chain strategy.
This individual must be able to effectively negotiate with carrier without the advantage of very high volumes while balancing interests of the stakeholders.
This role will strategically manage the spend to identify opportunities that drive sustainable improvement in cost, quality, service and innovation.
Lead supplier relationship management activities that drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by partnering with key business stakeholders to develop and track supplier Key Performance Indicators.
Support forecasting and budget planning and reporting activities.
Ensure robust commercial arrangements meet applicable business, legal, sustainability and ethical requirements.
The role is based in the Port St. Lucie, Florida area.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in supply chain, logistics, procurement, business administration of related).
10+ years of experience managing Supply Chain with a strong truckload & rail transportation focus
5+ years of staff management
Must have extensive experience negotiating with as well as managing the performance of truckload carriers on a national or large regional scale.
Experience with the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
Responsibility for network-wide inventory
Solid experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
Hands on leader who will roll up sleeves and lead by example
Demonstrated ability to lead transformation of an organization
Strong relationship building/influencing skills
Strong analytical and project management skills
MBA preferred
