Lucas Group is working with a client that is a leader in data analytics. This firm is seeking to add a VP of Software Engineering to their team. This firm specializes in developing a product that allows their client to ingest large amounts of data and aggregates it in a user friendly interface.
Job Requirements:
• Proven experience as a VP of Engineering or similar leadership role
• Experience working in a leading software focused company
• Experiences growing and managing teams
• Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
• Understanding of budgets and business-planning
• Leadership and organizational abilities
• Strategic thinking
• 8+ years’ experience architecting large scale, high performance systems
• 3+ years demonstrated use of Python (NumPy, Pandas, Flask/Django, etc.)
• 2+ years demonstrated use of a frontend JavaScript framework such as angular or react
• 3+ years managing a team of 30 or more developers
• Object-oriented programming expertise
• Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
• Commercial application using Spark or similar big data frameworks
• Experience designing data environments in AWS, GCP, Azure, or other public cloud offering
• Experience with Market Data technologies, with an interest in data science or applied quantitative research is a plus
• Experience with several of the following: Real-time systems, Large-scale, distributed systems, Functional programming, Test engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand, document and explain diverse and highly technical subjects
• Should possess a good general understanding on a broad range of technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong architecture design skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
