Job Description & Skills:
Responsible for shaping and developing the division strategy and organizations.
- Ensure proper report structure with divisions and departments
- Help identify opportunities and areas for improvement within each division
- Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizational missions such as:
- Improve Management Reporting
- Improve Document and Information Control
- Improve Business Processes and Organizational Planning
- Improve and Lead in Training
- Improve the bridging of Operations and Accounting
- Improve the bridging of Project Management and Field Labor
- Improve the implementation of prefabrication
- Responsible for advising the CEO, President on business development and corporate planning issues that relate and impact the operations of the company
- Ensure all are informed about business activities, performance, opportunities, and recommended courses of action
- Lead managers to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with the overall company strategy
- Challenge basic assumptions underlying each division's operations
- Set performance goals that are tailored to each division
- Develop operational goals for each division that are aggressive, yet obtainable, and tied to long-term goals of the company
- Establish short-term goals that align with the long-term objectives to enhance functional and operational activities
- Monitor division performance against performance goals to ensure progress is being made, and if necessary, corrective actions are taken
- Build an organizational culture in which passion for continuous improvement is expected
- Identify and establish key performance indicators for operations as well as deliver report performance to measure against
- Oversees and Manage Project Managers, Account Managers and Construction Managers
- Establish monthly project status/projection reviews with each Account Manager, Construction Manager, Project Manager and VP of Service. Report these to the CEO/CFO.
- Implement strategic management processes that require restructuring, reengineering and refocusing the organization as required through action plans and focus driven processes
- Strategic management of the field production, prefab, BIM & CAD field layout, technology (hardware / software application) and SOP
Education and Work Requirements:
Minimum 6-10 years’ progressive experience in project management or operations, sales or marketing in the Construction Industry working for a multi-million dollar Electrical Contractor.
Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Engineering or similar Degree
- Required: Graduate Degree (Business, Finance, Engineering or similar Degree preferred)
- Experience using Estimating and Project Management software (Accubid, Live Count, Bluebeam)
- In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
- Technical competencies - understand software, hardware, networks, etc.
- Effectively handle stressful situations and deadline pressures
