We have partnered with our client in their search for a VP of Data Platforms
In this position you will design, build, and scale an enterprise-wide data platform that consolidates data from multiple ERP, CRM, and operational systems. The role will establish the foundation required to enable advanced analytics and AI capabilities while operating effectively within a federated data and technology environment.
This leader will own the data platform strategy, architecture, and delivery, ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and fit for global use across regions and business units.
Key Objectives (First 18-24 Months)
- Define and deliver a single, scalable enterprise data platform that integrates fragmented data sources across the organization
- Establish a clear operating model that balances central platform ownership with federated domain teams
- Enable self-service analytics and AI use cases through standardized, high-quality data assets
- Partner with business, IT, and analytics leaders to ensure adoption and measurable value creation
- Lay the technical and organizational foundations for AI-enabled decision-making
Core Responsibilities
Data Platform Strategy & Architecture
- Define the target-state data platform architecture, with a preference for GCP-based solutions while remaining cloud-agnostic
- Lead the design of ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption layers across structured and semi-structured data
- Ensure platform scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency
Enterprise Data Integration
- Consolidate and harmonize data from multiple ERP, CRM, and operational systems
- Drive common data models, standards, and integration patterns across regions
- Address data quality, lineage, and metadata management at enterprise scale
Federated Operating Model Leadership
- Work effectively within a federated data environment, aligning central platform teams with distributed domain teams
- Define clear standards, guardrails, and enablement frameworks rather than heavy central control
- Support regional and functional teams in adopting the enterprise platform
AI & Advanced Analytics Enablement
- Build a platform that supports advanced analytics, data science, and AI workloads
- Enable capabilities such as feature engineering, model training pipelines, and MLOps foundations
- Partner closely with analytics and data science leaders to accelerate AI use cases
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing data platform and engineering teams
- Act as a senior partner to the CDO, CIO, and business leadership
- Influence without direct authority in a complex, global organization
