Location: Massachusetts
The Vice President, Global Operations reports to the CEO and is responsible for overseeing a range of activities including electro-mechanical systems and disposable manufacturing, supply chain management, contract manufacturing, facility management, and ensuring quality practices throughout the operations. It will be critical for the Vice President, Operations to be a hands-on leader who can build a solid operational foundation, develop short and long-term strategies that drive operational excellence, and have the ability to lead and execute on that vision. The Vice President, Operations will be a visible model of leadership, managerial excellence, and integrity, and will be responsible for the following:
- Systematize, streamline and implement best practices across the organization to provide the visibility and metrics required to facilitate analysis of operations and ensure sustainable improvements in performance.
- Create and execute lean methodologies, just-in-time manufacturing strategies to increase productivity, efficiency, and inventory turns while executing perfect quality.
- Develop and implement best practices to ensure world-class performance while improving the profitability of the operation.
- Incorporate best practices in supply chain management, quality control, manufacturing and facility management.
- Provide Operations leadership in acquisition planning and integration.
- Develop and implement the manufacturing operations roadmap and cost control plan.
- Ensure the selection, retention, and development of A-players. Provide ongoing leadership, oversight, coaching, and feedback to subordinates.
- Set performance goals with direct reports and monitor ongoing performance. Lay out targets that are aggressive but achievable. Instill a culture of accountability, ownership and execution.
- Be a hands-on leader who is willing to roll up the sleeves and be a player-coach.
- Motivate and energize the organization to deliver on its mission.
- Collaborate with senior management peers to create best practices related to all functions to further align with overall business strategy.
- Support the quality certifications (ISO13485) while developing long & short-term strategies to prepare the company for growth and expansion.
- Proactively analyze business operations to identify potential costs savings / efficiencies / merger synergies.
- Establish culture of urgency and systematic, metric driven execution.
- Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and enhance working relationships.
- Act as a key driver of change within the business, supporting cross-functional decisions and helping employees to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the company’s operational excellence approach.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Operations Management. An MBA is preferred.
- 15+ years of operations management experience, including 8+ years of experience in the medical device industry required.
- An expert level of knowledge in the manufacturing of electro-mechanical equipment and high-volume plastic products.
- Results-orientated with a tireless work ethic – determined to meet and exceed targets and drive accountability throughout the organization.
- A strong communicator capable of presenting ideas, selling new concepts and tactics, listening to contrary opinions, and driving a strategy into an organization.
- The ability to travel internationally as needed.
