Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop thorough understanding of Company strategy, business operations, culture and competition with particular knowledge around key Finance customer/functions.
  • Provides ongoing financial analysis of results, analyze variances, and develop improvements in accordance with GAAP standards. Present reports in an accurate and timely fashion providing data and information essential to consolidation and reporting of P&L for multiple businesses.
  • Ensure preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related footnotes.
  • Prepare work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances. Lead monthly consolidations and accounting close process including analytical review of operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained at Corporate and across the businesses.
  • Review and approve financial business propositions for CAPEX investments, pricing, customer marketing programs, and new products; make recommendations to the businesses, the CFO and Executive team as appropriate.
  • Work directly with Banks and Bank Covenants on financial requirements for Corporate and/or individual businesses as needed. Ensure maintenance and reconciliation of fixed asset records.
  • Develop, update and provide key performance metrics to the businesses and recommendations on how to improve results (accruals, trial balance, expenses, bill of materials, monthly reforecasts and EBITDA) as needed across all locations/businesses.
  • Develop and ensure timely implementation of compliant, reasonable accounting and audit processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations. Establish internal controls required to grow and manage the overall business and reconcile any issues or discrepancies.
  • Oversee and lead annual corporate budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and budgets for distributed businesses with local leadership within the businesses. Keeps CFO and executive team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  • Conduct meaningful proactive analysis to improve key business decisions on the management of working capital.
  • Effectively lead the accounting team by hiring and retaining top-grade talent; address and develop performance and career development requirements.
  • Oversee risk management plan and implementation with location/business Controllers and their teams to ensure adherence to corporate standards and protocol.
  • Drive internal and external communication interactions including location/business leadership suppliers, partners, and customers as appropriate.
  • Lead financial aspects of potential M&A activity including: valuation, structure, negotiate, and finalize purchase agreements. Lead financial integration effort.
  • Performs related duties as required.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in an Accounting leadership role in a Company with revenue approaching several hundred million to a $1B. Prior experience and or ability to present financials to the Board. CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment; prior experience in food production of service preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with GAAP
  • Foundational knowledge in FP&A
  • Understanding of Bank Covenants
  • Experience conducting audits and working with auditors
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP Hana a plus
  • Continuous Improvement and Change Management
  • Verbal and Written Communication/Presentation Skills
  • M&A Due Diligence & Integration- preferred
