Lucas Group has partnered with a Sign Company on the West side of Atlanta for a Vinyl Technician.
The candidate would operate computers to lay out display of graphics to be printed on or cut from vinyl;
generates control media for cutting on plotter; weeds, masks and installs by performing the following duties.
- Receives copy of work order; confirms accuracy and completeness of information; reviews to determine job specifications.
- Checks inventory for requisite vinyl; orders vinyl if required.
- Creates working file with Flexi, CorelDraw, and job design file.
- Enlarges images to actual size.
- Adds or removes color from vector file according to actual image size.
- Converts text to “curves” in vector file.
- Exports vector file to “temp” file; imports vector file into omega (control program for peripherals.)
- Selects required portion of file and sends to plotter for cutting.
- Opens bit map in CorelDraw, converts to EPS file; exports EPS file into Onyx; saves file to hard drive.
- Sends file to plotter for cutting (or cuts by hand if required.)
- Weeds excess vinyl from cut-out image; masks vinyl image with transfer tape.
- Cleans substrate with RapidTak or denatured alcohol.
- Applies vinyl to substrate, checking for quality; removes bubbles and creases.
- Checks work and signs off on materials used.
