In this brand new role, the VP of Talent should have extremely strong social media skills, excellent ideas on how to improve the employee engagement experience and someone who can implement progressive talent acquisition strategies at a senior level.
Job Description
The Vice President of Talent manages & coordinates organization-wide strategic efforts for all the talent acquisition and strategic workforce planning. This incumbent oversees the client's full life cycle recruitment process in sourcing, attracting, and onboarding candidates. Responsibilities also include building succession plans and crafting an internal promotion process, ultimately building a talent pipeline of the most talented and superior employees available in the job market that aligns with the client's hiring needs and business objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Recruitment/Sourcing/Pre-Employment Process/Employer Branding
- Be the resident expert on external talent strategy trends, innovations and best practices, leveraging social media and mobile access
- Lead full cycle strategic recruiting that enables the organization to meet its resident experience, quality and operational goals
- Develop and execute creative and innovative strategies for identifying, engaging, and closing the best talent that includes innovative sourcing strategies and techniques that build pipelines of high-caliber qualified candidates
- Develop and create innovative and proactive sourcing programs, events and campaigns to support scalable hiring across our entire organization, to include new channels like military/vet hiring, apprenticeship program, and other targeted initiatives such as Diversity & Inclusion, college internship program
- Enhance the skill set of identifying top talent and good fit by developing strategies to enhance the pre-employment process to include; assessments and candidate feedback to ensure a positive experience and Company brand in support of a strong foundation for onboarding and orientation
- Leverage succession and talent planning initiatives, and integrate internal and external search activity to align with the succession plans and talent/ competency gaps
- Lead the development of talent pipelines and programs to ensure the growth of talent pools in support of the business needs
- Create and execute a strategy in the hiring process to hire for future planning and focus. Attract and select high-potential employees with potential to move two levels in the next 3 to 5 years in support of our growth, which will reduce and mitigate risks if a leader should leave the organization
- Lead the initiative to improve the Company’s branding and reputation through realistic company previews and reviews as well as develop media outlet campaigns on sites like Glassdoor and LinkedIn
- Create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity, and competitive advantage in support of the company's diversity and inclusion strategic plan
- Motivate, develop, and grow a team of high performing talent acquisition specialists and provide assistance as needed
- Organize events to establish a strong employer brand
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the applicability of regulatory requirements and effectively apply that knowledge to maintain compliance and further business objectives of the organization, including but not limited to I-9 process and compliance, immigration process related to foreign recruitment, as well as background reference check administration
- Onboarding & Orientation
- As a continuation of the talent acquisition process, create and manage cohesive onboarding and orientation programs that will evangelize our culture and support a positive first experience with the client, engaging, aligning, informing, and inspiring new employees with a sense of belonging that will capture their hearts and minds
- Create an orientation follow-up program to survey new employees for feedback ensuring their expectations are being met, allows for course corrections, and sends the message that the Company cares about them and are invested in their growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or master’s degree in a related field preferred. Relevant comparable experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- 15+ years in business operations, human resources, organizational effectiveness, training, and development and recruiting preferred
- Demonstrable track record in delivering results
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to use data and analytics to influence and inform executive decision-making
- Excellent analytic, problem solving and coaching skills, with the ability to take a thoughtful data driven approach to addressing challenges
- Extensive experience working and building rapport with hiring managers at all levels within an organization, understanding their business needs and comfortability providing counsel and strategic recommendations
- Think strategically and develop systems, processes and programs that are scalable, simple yet effective with the willingness to be hands on
- Effective presentation skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
