VP of IT
Key member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for the oversight of the IT department. This position is a strategic partner to the business, providing thought leadership on strategic and tactical business imperatives to drive short and long-term goals.
- Key driver and leader in ensuring the effective development and implementation of the IT strategies, policies and processes required to meet our short and long-term business goals.
- Directs and controls all activities in the IT Department, including developing and maintaining all application systems, programs and projects along with maintaining all IT vendor agreements and partnerships
- Selects and implements suitable technology to streamline internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits
- Designs and customizes technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience
- Develops and implements IT policies and procedures to support business functions
- Defines the IT team’s roles and responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets objectives and strategies for the IT department
- Plans the implementation of new systems and provides guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization
- Approves purchases of technological equipment and software and establishes partnerships with IT providers
- Oversees the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance
- Directs and organizes IT-related projects
- Monitors changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage
- Analyzes the costs, value and risks of information technology solutions to advise management and suggest actions
- Provides leadership for the development and implementation of the organization's technology roadmap
- Oversees the operation and security of the physical and virtual servers along with the Wide/Local Area Networks (WAN/LAN)
- Maintains an up-to-date Disaster Recovery Plan, coordinates staff input and responsibilities, and establishes and administers preparedness exercises
- Develops and manages operating and capital budgets for the IT Department
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related field
- Ten plus years of IT experience in a fast paced, changing environment preferably with a wholesale distribution company
- Five plus years of progressive leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of results
- Application Development experience a plus
- Demonstrated expertise formulating, implementing and evaluating growth-oriented IT plans and processes with quantifiable results
- Strategic planning skills as well as strengths in tactical implementation, project management and follow through
- Demonstrated track record of achieving results, driving change, and continuous improvement
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
