Our client is now seeking a new member of their executive leadership team to develop and execute growth strategies globally. This newly created role of VP of  Sales  will oversee all revenue generating departments and play a pivotal role in the development of new business, market cultivation, the client experience, and internal alignment to achieve long term growth goals. This role is tasked with organization-wide cohesion and keeping all departments aligned with the organizational vision to deliver optimum client experiences that in turn will support and drive revenue growth and profitability.

About the VP of Sales  role:

  • This person will be a member of our Executive Leadership Team and will be involved in the highest level of decision making in the business.
  • They will be the leader of the Sales and Service teams, directly supervising the Sales Manager and Service Division Manager, and indirectly managing Sales and Service teams of 30-40 employees, including Territory Managers, Sales Support, Field Service Technicians, Factory Service Technicians, and Customer Phone Support Technicians.
  • They will focus on sustaining and growing our market share through revenue growth in products, clients and global market segments and have accountability overall revenue generation.
  • We are also seeking a person to develop into the “Integrator” role within our company in the future. To us, this means understanding the shareholder vision and aligning the needs and the goals of each department to ensure organization-wide cohesion at all levels.
  • This position will report to the CEO.

Accountabilities of the VP of Sales:

  • Execution of revenues and profit targets.
  • Development of new business.
  • Delivery of world class client experience.

  • Clarity and cohesion of organization vision, values, and alignment of goals.

Job Responsibilities (Daily Work):

  • Executive Group
    • Collaborate with Executive team on organizational strategy.
    • Promote the company values of integrity, diligence and reputation.
  • Sales Development
    • Gather data on competition / market.
    • Make plans for geographical development.
    • Engage with Sales team to ensure that revenue and profit targets are always exceeded.
    • Partner with VP of Engineering to align product plans for market share growth.
  • Portfolio Management
    • Manage product portfolio and R&D commitments for market share growth.
    • Make investment recommendations.
  • Client Experience
    • Define what adds value for clients and their evolving needs.
      • Create and implement metrics to measure and improve client interactions.
      • Promote organization wide initiatives to involve all employees in client focused performance.
    • Integration
      • Collaborate with departments   to assist with decision making and vision alignment.
      • Promote inter-department communication.
    • Requirements for success in the VP of  Sales roles:

    • Senior Management Team, VP business acumen, or C-level leadership experience.
    • Bachelors Degree with a MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of Executive-level Sales and Marketing leadership, which must include capital sales (agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or other heavy machinery.)
    • Proven experience with business development, including portfolio management, global market development, and R&D product pipeline investments.
    • A passion for the client experience.
    • Experience leading multi-department teams.
    • A very high level of charisma and emotional intelligence in order to promote organizational unity and bring people together for a common goal.
