VP, Global Procurement (Chief Procurement Officer)

In this highly visible role of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), you will lead our global procurement initiatives including leadership responsibilities for value-added procurement planning, strategic sourcing and contract management. 

You will have a measurable, direct impact on the financial performance of our global business through the delivery of significant savings and cash/working capital improvements in collaboration with our broader procurement network.

Reports to:  Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build a multi-year roadmap to execute effective sourcing strategies, achieve best value supplier selection, and deliver on sourcing objectives including supplier quality, delivery, working capital improvements and productivity
  • Provide advice, functional expertise and leadership to support business planning, strategic sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and internal procurement support activities
  • Partner with business leaders and procurement teams to deliver an annual operating plan for savings and working capital improvement
  • Design and develop a Center of Excellence (CoE) to support the transformation of both the function and value chain
  • Implement modern technology, best practices, benchmarks and scorecards to drive a culture of performance excellence, continuous improvement and cost-savings
  • Partner with business leads to enhance procurement skillsets, capabilities and competencies across the organization
  • Lead the selection, negotiation, and performance of strategic procurement partners/suppliers for named commodities
  • Support the broader procurement organization in the negotiation of complex proposals
  • Prepare and review contracts, requests for proposals (RFPs), and supplier/customer agreements for legal accuracy, price, and acceptability of items to specifications
  • Uphold high standards of conduct to prevent conflicts of interest or improper supplier and customer relationships

 

Year 1 Objectives:

 

  1. Drive immediate value by deploying holistic view of raw material category management to consider qualification of alternative sources and/or change in product specifications
  2. Drive immediate value by executing centralized approach to sourcing strategy and assigning clear roles & responsibilities, including cost savings targets, to category managers
  3. Drive immediate value by quickly establishing and executing a comprehensive MRO strategy
  4. Drive immediate value by upgrading capabilities and establishing an effective centralized governance and operating model

 

Education, Skills, Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related operations discipline
  • 15+ years of direct, indirect purchasing and operational management experience
  • Strategic and analytical mindset
  • Strong partnership, influencing and relationship building skills at a senior level
  • Proven experience leading broad organizational change and procurement transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and develop top talent within a decentralized procurement organization  
  • Superior negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience influencing in a global matrixed organization
  • Accredited supply chain professional certification
  • Familiarity with the following raw materials/commodities desired: structural polymers, fibers, and aluminum (or other similar commodity metals)
