We have partnered with our client in their search for a Media & Analyst Relations Contractor.



Responsibilities: 
 The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with U.S. media outlets and industry analysts and overseeing our organization's participation in relevant award programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven success executing media and analyst relations programs.

U.S. Media Relations:
  • Develop, implement and lead a comprehensive U.S. media relations strategy to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
  • Cultivate relationships with key journalists, editors and media outlets to secure positive coverage, overseeing the PR agency’s five-person U.S. team in coordination with the international senior media relations manager.
  • Write/edit press releases and bylined articles as needed.
  • Distribute press releases and other relevant materials, creating and arming PR agency with compelling media pitches and ideas to accompany press releases/assets.
  • Collaborate with senior manager of international media relations and other internal teams to uncover compelling stories within the company that can be amplified through media and analysts.
  • Monitor industry news for opportunities to newsjack stories.
  • Monitor company media coverage and proactively escalate any emerging issues.
  • Work with parent company’s New York PR agency to engage higher value (ie: broadcast) opportunities.
  • Project manage Shorthand story development.
  • Support crisis communications planning and media response content support.

Industry Analyst Relations:
  • Work with the senior manager of analyst relations to build and maintain strong relationships with industry analysts to enhance our organization's presence in key markets.
  • Coordinate analyst briefings, presentations, RFI responses and demos and ensure timely delivery of relevant information.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and share analyst insights to internal teams through various channels (including company’s Analyst Relations Hub) for strategic decision-making. 
  • Work with marketing to help amplify the organization's inclusion in relevant analyst reports and assessments.
  • Launch peer review program to garner positive reviews.

Awards Program Management:
  • Work with U.S. PR agency to identify top tier industry award opportunities.
  • Develop and submit award nominations, ensuring a compelling and competitive submission.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information for award submissions.
  • Track award wins and recognitions internally and externally.
  • Work with marketing to amplify the organization’s inclusion in relevant awards.

Communication and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, public relations and executive leadership, to align media and analyst relations activities with overall business goals.
  • Provide strategic counsel to executives on media and analyst engagement.
  • Train spokespeople as needed.

Measurement and Reporting:
  • Establish key performance objectives (KPOs) for media, analyst and award activities.
  • Track and analyze metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives and adjust tactics as needed for program optimization.
  • Prepare regular reports for leadership on media coverage, analyst relations and award program outcomes.

  
Skills Required:  
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills; strong relationships with U.S. media outlets are a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker and storyteller with the ability to align communications efforts with business objectives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.

  
Education & Work Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience in U.S. media relations, analyst relations and/or awards program management.
