Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer with OpenShift experience to join our banking client in Dublin. This role sits within a growing technology team focused on delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions across critical banking platforms. The position begins on a 6-month contract with a strong view to transitioning into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for applications deployed on Red Hat OpenShift.

  • Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and platform engineering teams to ensure high-quality delivery across the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across containerised environments.

  • Validate application deployments, configurations, and environments within OpenShift clusters.

  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and deliver clear, actionable defect reports.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks, automation practices, and quality governance.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide input on test estimates, risk assessments, and delivery timelines.

Required Experience

  • 3+ years' experience as a Test Engineer or QA Engineer in complex enterprise environments.

  • Hands-on experience working with Red Hat OpenShift, including deployments, pods, containers, and configuration management.

  • Strong experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, JUnit, or similar).

  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

  • Experience testing microservices and APIs (REST, JSON, Postman, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts and container orchestration.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within the banking or financial services sector.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).

  • ISTQB certification or similar.
