TEMP ATTORNEY – CONTRACTS (BALTIMORE)
Lucas Group has unique opportunity for a contracts experienced attorney for a long term temporary role – potential for temp-to-perm with a Baltimore organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the full-lifecycle contracts management process for several business groups in a high-volume environment with quick turnaround times and SLA’s.
- Draft, evaluate and negotiate complex buy-side vendor agreements including but not limited to: software licensing (SaaS and on-premise), market data, employee benefits, consulting and professional services, facilities, real estate, and intellectual property. Assist with issue resolution, address breach of contract situations
- Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable law, rules or regulations
- Assist in maintaining the contract management system, including workflow maintenance and follow-up
- Other duties as assigned, which may include discrete projects involving privacy, litigation, technology, or asset management
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate Degree (JD) from an accredited law school required
- 1-3 years’ experience working in contract negotiation at a company or law firm; must have previous experience working on contract review
- Ability to understand and adapt to emerging technologies, technology background is a plus
- General understanding of data privacy (including GDPR) and data security for negotiation in certain commercial contracts
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative, strong work ethic, and willing and able to learn quickly
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with SharePoint and OneDrive preferred
- Familiarity with contract management systems is a plus
- Client first attitude
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and use time effectively
