Jmeter AND Temenos experience essential
Contract Opportunity
Financial Services / Banking
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)
Contract: 3-month initial contract
Sector: Banking / Financial Services
We are seeking an experienced Temenos Non-Functional / Performance Test Engineer to support a major core banking technology environment.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience delivering non-functional and performance testing within a Temenos T24 / Temenos Transact environment, alongside proven expertise in Apache JMeter.
This is a senior, hands-on technical role requiring someone capable of independently owning the performance testing lifecycle, from test strategy and workload modelling through to scripting, execution, performance analysis and reporting.
You will work closely with application, engineering, infrastructure and Temenos teams to assess system performance, identify bottlenecks and ensure the platform can support expected transaction volumes and business demands.
Define and deliver the non-functional and performance testing approach for a Temenos core banking environment.
Design, develop, maintain and execute performance testing scripts using Apache JMeter.
Plan and conduct load, stress, endurance, volume and scalability testing.
Develop realistic workload models based on expected transaction volumes, concurrent users and peak processing demands.
Execute performance tests across Temenos T24 / Temenos Transact applications, interfaces and integrated systems.
Analyse response times, throughput, error rates, resource utilisation and overall application behaviour under varying workloads.
Identify performance bottlenecks and conduct root cause analysis across application, database, infrastructure and integration layers.
Work collaboratively with engineering, infrastructure and application teams to investigate performance issues and implement improvements.
Support performance tuning activities and coordinate subsequent testing to validate improvements.
Establish performance baselines, acceptance criteria, service-level targets and measurable non-functional requirements.
Produce detailed performance test results, dashboards and reports, communicating findings to technical and programme stakeholders.
Manage defects identified through performance testing, ensuring appropriate investigation, remediation and re-testing.
Support test environment preparation, test data requirements and overall performance test execution readiness.
Significant commercial experience in non-functional testing and performance engineering within complex enterprise environments.
Strong, hands-on experience with Apache JMeter, including script development, parameterisation, correlation, test execution and results analysis.
Demonstrable experience performing performance testing within a Temenos T24 / Temenos Transact environment.
Strong understanding of core banking transaction flows and the performance requirements associated with high-volume banking platforms.
Proven experience delivering load, stress, endurance, volume and scalability testing.
Ability to develop realistic performance scenarios and translate business requirements and transaction volumes into measurable technical performance criteria.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and distinguish application, database, infrastructure and integration-related performance bottlenecks.
Experience conducting performance investigations, defect analysis and root cause identification.
Experience working across complex, integrated technology environments.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings and recommendations to engineering and programme stakeholders.
Experience with Temenos Payments Hub (TPH).
Exposure to Temenos modules including Payments, Customer, Accounts, Lending or Treasury.
Experience with additional performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or HP Performance Center.
SQL knowledge and experience analysing database performance.
Experience conducting API performance testing.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated performance test execution.
Previous experience supporting core banking transformations or large-scale Financial Services technology programmes.
