Technical Product Manager - Core Trading Platforms
Location: London (Hybrid)
Rate: Competitive Contract Rate (Inside IR35)
We're looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap and delivery of a Core Trading Platforms value stream within a large-scale enterprise technology environment.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for maximising the value of shared technology platforms that underpin critical business capabilities. You'll work at the intersection of business and technology, driving platform strategy, enabling engineering teams and ensuring the organisation has scalable, secure and resilient technology foundations.
You'll balance strategic platform investment with operational priorities, helping accelerate delivery across multiple product teams while promoting best practice in product management.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the platform vision, strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and delivery through to optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Prioritise initiatives using business value, customer insight, risk and performance data.
- Make informed decisions on priorities, dependencies and trade-offs across a complex technology landscape.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Product, Data, Operations and Change teams to deliver shared platform capabilities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand capability requirements and ensure platform investment delivers measurable business outcomes.
- Drive adoption of reusable platform services that enable delivery teams to build and deliver products more effectively.
- Monitor product performance, establish feedback loops and continuously refine priorities based on measurable outcomes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Product Owners and delivery teams, promoting product best practices and agile ways of working.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies, ensuring effective planning, collaboration and alignment across multiple workstreams.
- Champion the platform across the organisation, securing stakeholder buy-in and embedding successful change.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Manager or similar role managing enterprise platforms, technology products or shared services.
- Strong experience defining product vision, strategy and roadmaps.
- Experience managing products through the full lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and continuous optimisation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working closely with Engineering, Architecture, Data, Operations and Change teams.
- Strong prioritisation skills using business value, customer insight, risk and data.
- Confident making decisions, balancing competing priorities and managing trade-offs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Experience managing complex dependencies across multiple teams and programmes.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, supporting Product Owners and delivery teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans.
Desirable
- Experience working within Financial Services, Insurance or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience delivering enterprise platform or core technology transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of Agile product delivery and modern product operating models.
