The Data Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining data files contained in a computerized database management system (DBMS).  This position will gather, analyze, report and verify integrity of data in use within multiple business units.  This individual will play a crucial role in implementing and recommending procedures to improve business systems, data processing, data flow, collection and database integrity. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand key data sources and the business relevance of the data
  • Work with data source owners to assess data integrity and generate processes to maintain it
  • Build data sets and reports using Power BI and SSRS.
  • Validate accuracy of reports and data provided
  • Proficiency in Dimensional Data Models and Data Warehouse concepts
  • Strong SQL and scripting skills
  • Ability to quickly understand business concepts by demonstrating mastery of a business and industry area and the analytics that create business value
  • Understanding of databases, ETL tools, and best practices in creating and delivering useful information.
  • Suggest modifications to data collection and transformation processes in order to improve data quality and put in place data quality and process monitoring
  • Establish, coordinate and maintain data integrity procedures, processes and policies that efficiently enhance data integrity.
  • Work with end users to identify and analyze business processes, workflows, requirements, issues and opportunities, and evaluate the potential application of new or modified technology solutions and/or processes
  • Resolve data discrepancies between all business systems and applications
  • Beta Test releases, updates, and enhancements to new and existing business systems and assist in the coordination of user sign-off and roll out
  • Provide training on new and existing systems as needed to support operational activities
  • Troubleshoot end user reported problems or coordinate internal and/or external support if necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. in computer science required
  • 5 years of Data Analyst/Database management experience. Knowledge of ERP/CRM, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Visual Studio, SharePoint, MS Report Builder
  • Knowledge of programming language concepts
