Our client in Raleigh, NC is looking for a Tax Technology Manager. This person has responsibility for tax technology strategy, tax process transformation enabled by technology, tax software acquisition and budgeting, and leading the tax technology team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and manage technology strategy and road map initiatives for the tax department
  • Manage tax software licensing and technology budget
  • Manage day to day operations of the tax technology team
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring initiatives, and the growth and learning of tax technology team
  • Manage and support the monthly in house developed sales and use tax technology solutions that support the tax account reconciliations performed by the sales and use tax team
  • Identify future tax technology needs including opportunities for process improvements, automation, efficiency gains, and application of tax process and technology best practices
  • Lead process design and implementation for tax process transformation initiatives that deliver automation, process efficiency, and enable effectiveness for the tax department
  • Serve as a liaison between the Tax, Accounting, and Information Technology departments improving the understanding of the tax department’s information technology needs; Serve as the key point person to answer questions related to current and future tax Information Technology initiatives
  • Develop and deliver end user training and maintain user documentation
  • Identify, plan for, and direct all tax data management and warehousing needs, including record retention and disclosure requirements
  • Maintain the legal entity book configurations and links between the financial systems and tax systems

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of Tax Technology experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
  • Six Sigma certification/training
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Project Management (leading implementations, contributing individually, and driving team collaboration)
  • Ability to build strong collaborative working relationships, internally and externally
  • Experience in Reporting Systems 
  • Strong experience with intermediate/advanced Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, advanced formulas)
  • Experience in data management and warehousing tools, techniques, and applications
  • Experience in data analytics a plus
  • Experience with robotics process automation a plus
