Lucas Group has partnered with a premier Engineering & Consultancy firm based in the Woodlands area of Houston, TX, who is looking to add to their expanding Supply Chain division. Our client is looking for a candidate who is experienced and knowledgeable in Strategic Sourcing to join them as a Strategic Sourcing Manager. You could be a Lead looking for a step up into a Manager role, or a Manager who is looking for a more diverse opportunity – this could be the role for you!

The Strategic Sourcing Manager plans, organizes, and ensures the execution of all Supply Chain initiatives related to the sourcing of corporate and indirect spend categories.  Additionally the Strategic Sourcing Manager will also be responsible for the monthly reporting on savings related to manage categories and ensuring the publication of other spend trend reports.

Duties

  • Executes the strategic sourcing methodology including data collection and analysis phase on internal demand and market evaluation, internal and external presentations to relevant stakeholders, contract negotiations, and the resulting supplier performance evaluations
  • Conducts RFP process including preparing, reviewing and amending contracts, bids and proposals in compliance with legal and supply chain standards at efficient cost, quality, and delivery specifications
  • Identifies and discusses supply and/or defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of failure

Experience & Education requirements

 

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or Engineering
  • Minimum experience: Three years of procurement and logistics, engineering or operations
  • Desired experience:  Five years of procurement and logistics, engineering or operations
  • Certifications:  Prefer CPSM, CPM and/or CPIM
  • Prefer oil and gas services industry field experience
  • Prefer fleet management experience
