We have partnered with our client in their search for a Strategic Operations Lead in SoHo, New York.
Responsibilities
The Strategic Operations Lead will help turn the SoHo office from a concept into a functioning AI-native business unit. The role exists to keep the team moving at startup speed while preserving the right connection points into leadership, customers, technology partners, HR, TA, finance, legal, and shared services.
The person in this seat should be the unit's practical integrator: someone who sees around corners, converts ambiguity into operating plans, keeps decision-making moving, and ensures design-partner, partner, and internal leadership interactions are crisp, productive, and followed through.
- Build and manage the weekly/monthly operating cadence for the SoHo unit: priorities, milestones, dependencies, decision logs, executive updates, and follow-through.
- Translate strategic goals into sequenced workplans. Track workstreams across product, engineering, design, applied AI, customer workflow, Google/technology partners, and shared services.
- Coordinate design-partner sessions, client visits, prototype feedback loops, and follow-up actions so customer learning turns into reusable product patterns.
- Help stand up and run the SoHo office experience: onboarding rhythm, working norms, visit logistics, meeting rituals, space needs, and local team operating practices.
- Prepare concise decision materials and operating updates for the Unit Lead, LN sponsor group, Greg, Ajay, and other senior stakeholders. Surface risks early with options, not just problems.
- Keep the unit moving through pre-agreed fast-lane processes for hiring, spend, product decisions, customer engagement, and shared-service support. Maintain auditability without slowing execution.
- Create a lightweight source of truth for priorities, blockers, decisions, and customer feedback. Support AI-native practices such as agent-mediated status capture where useful.
-
Skills Required
- Drives work to completion, creates structure quickly, and does not wait for perfect clarity before acting.
- Can simplify complexity and identify the next useful move.
- Engaging, concise, and credible with senior leaders, clients, technology partners, and internal teams.
- Understands that design-partner interactions are part learning loop, part relationship management, and part commercial signal.
- Comfortable with fast decisions, incomplete information, and visible iteration.
- Can work with founders/builders in the morning and corporate shared services in the afternoon without losing momentum.
- Operates with minimal oversight and treats unresolved issues as their responsibility to clarify, escalate, or solve.
-
- Demonstrated ability to run complex workstreams with senior stakeholders and limited oversight.
- Comfort working with product, engineering, commercial, HR, finance, legal, and external client teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to produce crisp executive summaries, decision memos, agendas, trackers, and post-meeting follow-through. Ideally using agents
- High judgment, high energy, low ego, and the ability to operate in ambiguity without becoming theoretical.
- Interest in AI, legal technology, professional services, or workflow transformation strongly preferred.
Education & Work Experience
- Former consulting firm associate or senior associate with an undergraduate degree and approximately 4-5 years of experience.
- or Master's-level graduate with approximately 2-3 years of strong operating, consulting, venture, product operations, strategy operations, or transformation experience.
