Title: Storage Administrator
Location: Hybrid in NYC (Midtown 2x a week)

Compensation: $45 - $70/hr. (Contract-to-Hire)
We have partnered with our client in their search for a Storage Administrator. The Storage Administrator will serve as the technical expert, responsible for optimizing complex IT systems, leading critical troubleshooting efforts, and supporting infrastructure enhancements. This role requires deep expertise in Windows and VMware technologies, with a significant emphasis on reliability, system integrity, and performance improvements within healthcare technology environments.
Responsibilities
- Optimize and enhance existing infrastructure processes, systems, and platforms.
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for specific technologies and processes.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts during system outages.
- Provide advanced support to internal analysts and engineering teams.
- Participate actively in infrastructure assessments, designs, and global implementations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to document requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide system and public cloud expertise across the organization for addressing operational issues as well as supporting engineering activities.
- Recommend and define hardware and software upgrade requirements.
- Identify and resolve system deficiencies and performance limitations.
- Collaborate with other Business Units in assessing, evaluating, and implementing relevant technologies, applications, and capabilities as per agreed-upon business requirements.
- Maintain current and future-state system documentation and visual diagrams.
- Participate in on-call rotations and occasional off-hours tasks.
- Participate in planning sessions to capture future system architecture design.
Skills Required
- Extensive experience with Windows Networking, Active Directory, and Windows Security.
- Strong proficiency in VMware virtualization platforms.
- Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, Network Security)
- Intermediate knowledge of PowerShell or Python.
- Intermediate knowledge of physical and virtual systems, Microsoft Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, Citrix (entire technology suite), NetScaler, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and any two-factor authentication tools and applications.
- Familiarity with public cloud services (Azure, AWS).
- Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Suite as well as MS Visio and Project tools.
- Ability to evaluate and implement enterprise software packages, including system patches, deployments, integrations, and updates.
- Knowledge of modern storage systems (SAN, NAS) on-prem and/or cloud-based.
- Knowledge of modern backup and recovery software and tools.
- Detailed knowledge of SAN infrastructures, Server infrastructures, software, and related hardware, including Windows Server, VMware, and cloud technologies.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience
- MSCE is preferred.
- MCP and additional certificates in data security, networking, or specific technologies (VMware, Azure, AWS, Citrix, Networking, MS Exchange, etc.) will be considered.
- Detailed understanding of information systems in the healthcare operations domain desired.
