Staff Accountant

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Staff Accountant. This role will provide day-to-day accounting support to the team, assisting with routine operational and transactional activities during a defined coverage period while ensuring accuracy and timeliness across core accounting processes.

This is a W2 hourly interim opportunity through Korn Ferry requiring 4 days onsite at the client in NYC (Midtown).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations across key functional areas
• Assist with transaction processing, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Support month-end close activities and reporting processes
• Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and other accounting transactions
• Help identify and resolve discrepancies or variances
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
