Lucas Group is teaming up with a successful oil & gas company to identify a diligent Staff Accountant for the Houston office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position was created to address additional responsibilities created by the success of the company. Full cycle accounting is key for this role, as is ability and drive to take on financial reporting as company grows.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated and growing team with plenty of visibility with executive members. The ideal candidate will possess a ‘start up’ mentality with initiative and eagerness to take the next step to management-level roles.

Role Responsibilities:

• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and applications
• Record daily cash transactions and bank reconciliations
• Full GL management and complex month-end close procedures
• Record daily cash transactions and bank reconciliations
• Annual GAAP audit assistance with external auditors
• Treasury and cashflow management function including bank borrowing base reporting requirement

Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CPA candidate
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, upstream/midstream experience a plus
