We are seeking a highly capable Site Reliability Engineer / DevOps Engineer to join our client (financial services) on a remote contract basis, beginning with a 6 month term, with extensions planned.

This role will be operation outside of IR35, and will be fully remote working.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust migration pipelines to support application and infrastructure transformation initiatives
  • Automate deployment, release, and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Provide hands-on support for application and infrastructure migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption and strong performance
  • Enhance platform reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, operational procedures, and documentation to support incident response and platform operations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed DevOps and SRE best practices across the software delivery lifecycle
  • Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure system health and rapid issue resolution

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration
  • Experience administering and supporting Windows Server environments
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience working with monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK stack)
  • Practical experience operating within AWS environments

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with complex financial services industry customers
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience with security best practices in cloud and infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with hybrid or multi-cloud environments
  • Scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
