Our client is an industry leader in providing tools and equipment used in rescue, fire protection, mining, rail, police, and military companies. We are exclusively partnering with them on a Sr. Planner & Scheduler opening for their HQ in the southwest Chicago suburbs.
The Sr. Production Planner & Scheduler will be responsible for the materials, equipment, and manpower to achieve maximum order output and reliability.
Sr. Production Planner & Scheduler Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare all manufacturing production schedules.
- Work with Purchasing to ensure there are enough raw materials for production and that material flow is supported to meet these objectives.
- Develop schedules to optimize plant production capacity.
- Report metrics related to achieving schedule based goals.
- Monitor the schedule to initiate corrective actions if necessary.
- Light maintenance on the MRP system to fix any reporting or dashboard errors.
- Communicate schedule changes to management and impacted personnel.
Sr. Production Planner & Scheduler Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5 or more years in scheduling experience within a manufacturing production environment.
- Experience with MRP systems is required. Any experience with Infor XA is preferred.
- APICS certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
