Title: Senior Epic Database Administrator (ODBA/ECSA)
Location: Fully Remote (East Coast hours); up to 10% travel required for training/events.

Compensation: $60 - $80/hr. (Contract-to-hire)
We have partnered with our client in their search for a Senior Epic Database Administrator (ODBA/ECSA). This individual will play a critical role in supporting a high-availability healthcare IT ecosystem, leading the design, implementation, and optimization of Epic’s database infrastructure. The position requires strong Epic system expertise, hands-on experience with database administration, and the ability to mentor team members while managing mission-critical projects.
Responsibilities
Lead the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Epic ODBA/ECSA systems, including monitoring performance and executing upgrades, patches, and migrations.
Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, leadership, and Epic stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business and clinical objectives.
Supervise and mentor the Epic ECSA/ODBA team, manage on-call rotations, and support system transitions, integrations, and consolidations.
Design and implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies for mission-critical Epic databases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Linux, Oracle, Windows, Network, SAN, etc.) to resolve database and application issues, and contribute to critical event management.
Skills Required
Proven expertise with Epic ODBA and ECSA, including Epic Chronicles, Data Courier, and Cache database administration.
Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux, Windows, database tuning, monitoring, and support in clinical/healthcare environments.
Hands-on experience with Epic upgrades, Clarity reporting (preferred), and supporting interfaces across Epic modules.
Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex technical information for stakeholders at all levels.
Effective team leadership, project coordination, mentoring skills, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Education & Work Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Certifications: Epic ODBA, Epic ECSA, Data Courier, Chronicles (required). Clarity (preferred).
Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience, including recent hands-on work supporting Epic ODBA/ECSA in a healthcare environment.
