Solution Architect - Financial Services Transformation

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to provide end-to-end architecture leadership across a major financial services transformation programme. This role will be responsible for defining the target-state technology architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned to enterprise standards while supporting delivery teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Working closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams and third-party vendors, you will play a key role in shaping complex technology solutions across data, integration and application architecture within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end solution architecture leadership across strategic transformation initiatives.
- Design and define target-state technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture principles.
- Produce high-quality High-Level Design (HLD) documentation and supporting architecture artefacts.
- Lead solution design across application, data and integration domains.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure and compliant with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with business, technology and delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support architecture governance, design reviews and technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for optimisation.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure solutions are delivered in line with architectural intent.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience working as a Solution Architect within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong background producing High-Level Design (HLD) documentation.
- Proven expertise in data architecture and systems integration.
- Experience delivering technology transformation programmes within financial services.
- Strong understanding of complex, distributed technology environments.
- Experience supporting regulatory or compliance-driven technology implementations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to design enterprise-scale solutions across multiple technology domains.
- Experience influencing architecture strategy and target operating models.
- Knowledge of modern integration patterns, APIs and cloud-based architectures.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

The successful candidate will be an experienced architect who combines strategic thinking with hands-on solution design expertise. You will be comfortable operating across multiple workstreams, balancing business objectives with technical considerations, and providing architectural leadership throughout large-scale transformation programmes within a regulated financial services environment.
