We have partnered with our client in their search for a Software Packaging Engineer.
Responsibilities
Work on assigned Distributed Computing projects and tasks
Follow the change control processes and procedures
Perform software packaging (App-V, MSI, Windows Installer) as requested
Late night and weekend work may be necessary at times for installations, patching, upgrades, and maintenance
Provide systems administration, monitoring troubleshooting, and problem resolution for the Microsoft SCCM Servers, Desktops, VDI and Cloud (e.g. Azure and AWS) environments.
Create and maintain relevant documentation and training of other staff as required
Create and maintain of various scripts and code required to automate processes
Support, develop, document, test, and implement engineering solutions
Research and recommend innovative solutions and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
Provide technical consultation in new systems implementation, new feature or function evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems (automation)
The candidate will produce detailed implementation instructions and carry out required changes to complete tasks/projects, resolve incidents/problems, and for changes/improvements requested by management.
The candidate is required to update/maintain all documentation and will be tasked with improving such documentation as required.
Maintain effective communication with the Systems Infrastructure team and management
Skills Required
Solid experience with Microsoft Windows 10 Desktop Operating Systems
Solid experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manger (SCCM)
Solid experience with software packaging and software deployment within the Desktops and Citrix VDI environments
Solid experience with PowerShell for automation
Solid experience with pilot testing and deployment of application packages
Solid experience with Active Directory Infrastructure and troubleshooting (OU’s, GPO’s…)
Direct interaction with the business, including Front, Middle, and Back office will be required in this role
Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and multi-task effectively to deal with changing priorities
