Six Sigma Trainer
Position Overview
The Six Sigma Trainer is responsible for delivering high‑quality process improvement training to internal employees across the organization. This role focuses on teaching the principles, tools, and methodologies of Six Sigma, supporting participants through exercises and project work, and guiding them toward certification at the Yellow, Green, or Black Belt levels. The position requires frequent domestic travel to company locations to deliver in‑person training sessions and workshops. This is a fractional opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct instructor‑led Six Sigma training sessions-both classroom and workshop‑based-at various company sites across the United States.
- Teach foundational and advanced Six Sigma concepts, including DMAIC, root cause analysis, statistical tools, process mapping, and improvement methodologies.
- Facilitate hands‑on learning through simulations, exercises, group activities, and case studies.
- Coach and mentor employees through their Six Sigma projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Assess participant progress and evaluate understanding of course material through assignments, testing, and project reviews.
- Prepare employees for internal certification pathways (e.g., Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or Black Belt).
- Maintain training materials, presentations, and documentation to ensure content accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to identify training needs and ensure program effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on practical application of Six Sigma tools in day‑to‑day operations.
- Track training outcomes and support reporting related to certification progress and program performance.
- Represent the training function professionally while traveling and interacting with diverse teams across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Formal Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or higher).
- Strong knowledge of Six Sigma principles, tools, and problem‑solving methods.
- Experience leading process improvement projects using the DMAIC framework.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically on a frequent basis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coach employees at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a trainer, facilitator, or instructional lead.
- Experience certifying others in Six Sigma or delivering enterprise training programs.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Data analysis skills and comfort with statistical tools/software.
Working Conditions
- Requires regular travel to company sites across the U.S.
- Combination of classroom instruction, hands‑on activities, and on‑site coaching.
- May involve extended stays at locations depending on training schedules and cohort needs.
