Workday HRIS Analyst (Core HCM & Time Tracking)
Location: Long Beach, CA (onsite daily)
Type: interim/ interim to hire
Rate: $65-$80/hr W2 + benefits
Position Overview
We are seeking an interim Workday HRIS Analyst to join a lean and fast-paced HRIS team during a period of significant transition and growth. This role is critical to maintaining daily Workday operations, supporting HRIS requests, troubleshooting system issues, and driving Workday enhancements across the organization.
The ideal consultant will serve as a functional subject matter expert (SME) across multiple Workday modules, with a strong emphasis on Core HCM and Time Tracking. This individual will partner closely with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to support ongoing production activities, manage incoming support tickets, lead system improvements, and ensure Workday is optimized to meet evolving business needs.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role that requires someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and quickly establish themselves as a trusted Workday expert.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Functional Support
- Serve as the primary SME for Workday Core HCM, Security, Payroll/Earnings, Time Tracking, and Absence Management.
- Provide day-to-day production support and troubleshoot Workday-related issues.
- Research, analyze, and resolve system problems, unexpected results, and process inefficiencies.
- Support and manage HRIS service requests and Jira ticket queues.
Project Leadership
- Lead Workday-related projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of Workday HRIS experience.
- Strong functional expertise in:
- Workday Core HCM
- Time Tracking
- Experience supporting Workday production environments and resolving complex system issues.
- Proven ability to lead requirements gathering sessions and deliver business-focused solutions.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of HR policies, practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Pro Certification.
- Experience with additional Workday modules and functionality, including:
- Reporting
- Complex Calculated Fields
- Talent Optimization
- Workday Studio experience.
- Experience working within technology or high-growth organizations.
- Exposure to Workday integrations and advanced reporting solutions.
