Job Description

  • Directing or performing various activities and correction including setup, maintenance, balancing, transaction transmission, and support for Terminal Automation Applications.
  • Performing and documenting processes and system internal audits. Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance. Monitoring, ensuring compliance, and conforming to all SOX Compliance mandates.
  • Providing technology Support by evaluating and recommending new information technologies for terminal automation systems, maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending professional workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies and providing technical knowledge to co-workers for problem solving.
  • Creating and providing training for new users on existing terminal automation systems and for all users on updated terminal automation systems and developing and implementing training plans for terminal automation systems throughout the company.
  • Managing and developing test backup procedures, including disaster recovery plan.
  • Performing modifications to existing Terminal Automation Systems and implementing across all terminals.
  • Providing appropriate support to field users by resolving terminal system issues or redirecting to appropriate resource or vendor.
  • Acting as front-line liaison between Buckeye and support vendors.
  • Develops, manages and implements standards, procedures, processes, policies for the operations group including production, data control, operations and operations support.
  • Maintains system availability, prepare metrics to evaluate systems performance, and work with IT groups and users to ensure that service objectives are met.
  • Provides guidance, technical advice, planning and project management both within the group and with outside consultants and vendors.
  • Assist the Manager in developing strategic roadmaps for Automation Applications and Process Control systems in conjunction with IT and Terminal business management resources.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related discipline OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Significant IT experience including analysis, design and application development required.
  • Strong background in Unix and Linux is required.
  • Related Terminal Automation Systems experience is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of terminals/pipeline operations and terminology a plus.
  • Experience in Terminal Automation Systems (TopTech), systems analysis and design methodologies, database management systems (MySQL, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL, Access), client server technologies and browser-based applications (Java, IBM AS/400 products and/or other web development tools) are preferred.
