Our long time North side client needs to add a Federal Income Tax Senior to their group.  Position is open due to a transfer within the department.  The work is challenging but with a good work/life balance in this team atmosphere.

Description

Position reports to the Federal Tax Manager and is responsible for tax research and reparation of the U.S. consolidated corporate tax return,  partnership tax return, U.S. corporate group and tax provisions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual/quarterly ASC 740 tax provisions, including maintaining the tax basis balance sheet for each corporate and partnership entity and their respective temporary and permanent differences
  • Prepare consolidated U.S. Federal 1120 and 1065 income tax returns, which includes separate U.S. company proformas, related forms, elections, and statements
  • Complete K-1 filing process procedures
  • Maintain partnership Non-Qualifying Income and the Cash and Cash Equivalents calculations
  • Analyze and reconcile U.S. tax and related accounts in the general ledger
  • Review and reconcile fixed assets and tax depreciation
  • Prepare quarterly estimated tax payment calculations
  • Support information gathering for federal tax audits
  • Assist in the preparation of State & Local tax returns as needed
  • Document internal controls and procedures for SOX testing
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and other projects as assigned
  • Assist in identifying improvements in tax processes
  • Responsible for staying current with U.S. tax laws and regulations
  • Perform research on U.S. tax issues and changes affecting the company to identify proper tax treatment

 

Education and Experience Requirement

  • 3+ years of corporate & partnership tax return experience (publicly traded partnership experience preferred)
  • 2 to 3 years of tax provision experience
  • Undergraduate degree, BS/BA in Accounting
  • Team Player with a strong career focus
  • CPA or progress toward a CPA
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills - Proficient with Excel, tax preparation software (ONESOURCE is just about required), tax research software and general ledger interface.
