Role Overview:

We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic Solutions Team, known for its extensive collaboration across diverse industries. In close alignment with our Solutions Architects, the Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in executing project deliverables. By adhering to the guidance provided by our Solutions Architects and harnessing our specialized tools and processes, the Solutions Engineer ensures the successful completion of infrastructure and vulnerability assessments, design work, and implementation efforts. Furthermore, the Solutions Engineer is an active collaborator with our Overwatch operations team, streamlining client onboarding into our Managed Services Portfolio. This role also involves close collaboration with service delivery managers to ensure task prioritization and alignment with project budgets and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Solutions Engineer, you will provide essential engineering support to project teams, enabling architects to effectively support multiple clients concurrently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solution Design:

  • Collaborate closely with Solutions Architects and project teams to craft secure IT/OT network solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. This includes strict adherence to industry best practices and IEC 62443 standards. Your responsibilities encompass collecting network configurations and conducting baseline analyses to support the development of network architectures and designs.

Network & Security Implementation:

  • Assume a hands-on role in implementing IT and OT network infrastructure. This involves configuring firewalls, switches, routers, and other network components to maximize security and reliability. Additionally, you will build and implement approved architecture and design packages and configure client equipment for onboarding into our Managed Services Program.

Security Testing:

  • Conduct comprehensive security testing and vulnerability scanning on IT and OT networks and systems. Your work will entail identifying and assessing potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure rigorous compliance with industry regulations and standards such as NERC CIP, FDA, DoE, TSA, NIST, ISO, and IEC 62443.

Documentation:

  • Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, encompassing low-level designs, network diagrams, configurations, and security policies. This role also includes meticulous record-keeping of all tasks and efforts within our project management system.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving technologies. Actively contribute to driving continuous improvement in IT and OT network and security solutions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience supporting network and security projects.
  • Proficiency in the first four layers of the OSI model.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62443 and the Purdue model.
  • Proven experience with SCADA, DCS, and ICS systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple project tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Security: Proficiency in Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Check Point, and Palo Alto firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, and VPN.
  • WAN routing solutions: Competence in MPLS and SD-WAN with VPN overlays.
  • LAN/WAN platforms: Expertise in Cisco Nexus, ACI, Catalyst, and ISR route/switch, Fortinet, Aruba, especially multi-chassis, multi-context, ruggedized, and virtualized systems.
  • OT Networking & PLC Vendors: Competence in GE, Schweitzer, Schneider, Siemens, Red Lion, Antaira, Hirschmann, Emerson, Phoenix Contact, Moxa.
  • Cloud: Proficiency in Azure VNETs, Peering, Virtual Gateway, vWAN, DNS, and Load Balancing.
  • Authentication Systems: Mastery of TACACS, RADIUS, LDAP, Cisco ISE, FortiAuthenticator.
  • Wireless: Expertise in client and point-to-point/multipoint wireless, radio, and cellular solutions.
