Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Data) to join a high-performing engineering team based in Galway. This role will focus on the design and delivery of large-scale data and analytics platforms that support critical, enterprise-level products.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys working in collaborative, agile teams and contributing directly to architecture, design, and implementation across complex data ecosystems.
You will work on modern, cloud-native data platforms, helping to shape the next generation of performance measurement and analytics capabilities within a strategic programme of work.
Design and develop scalable, robust data solutions for high-volume analytics platforms
Build and optimise ETL pipelines and data flows across Snowflake, Oracle, and distributed systems
Process large datasets using Spark (Java or Scala) on AWS EMR
Develop data-driven services and components using Java and/or Python
Contribute to microservices-based architectures
Deploy and support cloud-native solutions using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes (EKS)
Apply DevOps best practices across CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile, iterative delivery environment
Provide strong technical input across design, analysis, and problem-solving activities
5+ years' experience in software or data engineering roles
Strong experience working with Snowflake and Oracle
Solid engineering background in Java and/or Python
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (Java or Scala)
Experience with AWS, including EMR and other core services
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
Proven experience building scalable ETL pipelines and data processing solutions
Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, and Terraform
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in collaborative teams
Financial Services or regulated industry experience is advantageous but not essential
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
