Senior Security Systems Engineer (Remote) | Contract (B2B / Freelance)

We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Engineer with deep hands-on expertise across the Microsoft security ecosystem, specifically Microsoft Purview, Security Access Management (SAM), and/or Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions.

This is a highly technical, implementation-focused role. We are looking for someone who has personally configured, deployed, and managed security controls within Microsoft environments, rather than an architect or consultant who has only designed solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening data protection, governance, compliance, and security posture across the organisation.

This is a remote role, but only EU based applications will be considered

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven hands-on experience implementing and administering Microsoft Purview within enterprise environments.
• Strong practical experience deploying and managing Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities.
• Experience working with Security Access Management (SAM) controls and governance processes.
• Demonstrable experience configuring topics such as:
• Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• Sensitivity Labels
• Information Protection
• Data Classification
• Insider Risk Management
• eDiscovery
• Data Lifecycle Management
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance technologies.
• Experience implementing security controls rather than solely producing designs or architecture.
• Knowledge of data governance, regulatory compliance, and data protection best practices.
