Lucas Group has partnered with a client in downtown Chicago looking for a Senior SEC Accountant to join their team. This role is part of the General Ledger accounting team responsible for month end close and related activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-10 years experience performing accounting activities, such as account reconciliations and analysis, preparation of financial statements, and application of accounting policies
- Public accounting experience a plus, CPA or progress toward CPA designation a plus
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
Responsibilities:
- Perform month/quarter close tasks such as balancing account reconciliations and posting journal entries
- Maintain and manage sub-processes; such as inter-company transactions/eliminations, capital expenditures, equity, purchase accounting or lease accounting, etc., including peer reviewing reconciliations within those areas
- Prepare actual-to-forecast variance analyses on certain accounts to assist the Financial Control Leads in their review of segment and practice financials
- Assist in the review and preparation of footnotes and schedules for annual and quarterly SEC filings
- Compile audit support schedules, and write internal financial position memos for internal/external auditors upon request
- Special and on-going projects, as needed
