Lucas Group has partnered with an Aerospace company in Atlanta area for a Direct Hire opportunity for Senior Project Engineer. :
Minimum Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years aerospace / mechanical design experience is preferred
- Experience using 3D CAD software (Pro-Engineer, Solidworks, etc.) preferred
- Experience with mechanical drafting and GD&T
- Knowledge of basic structural, thermal, and modal analysis of mechanical components is required
- Knowledge of conventional aerospace manufacturing methods, including; milling, turning, grinding, lapping, stamping, forging, casting, molding, EDM, ECM, welding, brazing, heat treating, etc. is preferred
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Knowledge of aircraft engine components, controls & accessories, and/or aircraft interiors is preferred
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and coatings
Primary Functions:
- Developing manufacturing drawings for airworthy flight hardware
- Assisting in the development of manufacturing processes for airworthy flight hardware
- Coordinating conformity inspection activities between the company’s Quality Assurance department,
- Develop vendor substantiation requirements for outside manufacturing vendors
- Support activities related to new vendor qualification, including new vendor identification and selection
- Assist in the development of customer evaluation packages for new flight hardware
