Are you an experienced Process Engineer looking for a new challenge, or stuck in your current role and in need of a step up? Then this position could be for you. The Lucas Group is currently partnered with an independent European-based Chemical client with an asset in the local Beaumont area, and we are searching for an experienced Process Engineer to join their team as a Senior Process Engineer who will be in charge of working alongside the Engineering Manager to further develop their group.

This role will require an engineer who likes to get hands on with the work, working not only in an office but also on the manufacturing floor, teaming up with other divisions in order to get the work completed. We are looking for someone who is happy to be seen as a mentor for junior engineers, with great communication, who can readily digest complex information into easily understandable points and present those to the team.
 

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience as a Process Engineer
  • Previous experience in the chemical (continuous process) or oil refining industry
  • Previous Chemical Manufacturing experience
  • Experience working with Methanol is preferred


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is required (non-negotiable)


Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot problems within the Methanol manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor performance of processes through all stages of production, interacting daily with the operations group.
  • Identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct research to develop new and cost-effective ways of solving common operating issues.
  • Lead in the development and management of area plant improvement projects.
  • Communicate the findings of cyclical PHA studies to the entire organization and work with the management team to assign the resulting recommendations.
  • Provide unit performance data for bio-methanol production calculations and participate in the annual ISCC auditing for bio-methanol production certifications.
