We have partnered with our client in their search for a Senior PowerBI Developer.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Reporting
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports using DAX, Power Query (M), and complex data models.
- Build and maintain data models in Power BI datasets, including relationships, hierarchies, measures, and calculated columns.
- Ensure performance tuning through optimized queries, data reduction strategies, and incremental refresh.
Data Engineering & Integration
- Develop data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Dataflows
- Connect and integrate multiple data sources - Azure SQL Database, Data Lake, APIs, Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Excel, and on-prem systems.
- Develop and maintain data ingestion frameworks leveraging REST APIs, web services, and JSON/XML structures.
- Schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot ADF pipelines and Power BI refresh processes.
Database Development
- Write complex T-SQL stored procedures, functions, views, and CTEs for data transformation and validation.
- Design and optimize data warehouse schemas (star/snowflake) in Azure SQL / Synapse Analytics.
- Implement indexing, partitioning, and query optimization for large datasets to ensure high performance.
- Manage database versioning, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub / Azure DevOps.
Azure Data Platform
- Build and manage end-to-end data solutions using Azure services:
- Azure Data Factory - Orchestration and data movement
- Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance - Data storage and modeling
- Azure Functions / Logic Apps - Automation and API management
API Management & Automation
- Consume, develop, and manage REST APIs for data integration across applications.
- Automate data refresh, metadata extraction, and publishing using Power BI REST APIs or Python scripts.
- Integrate BI solutions with Azure API Management (APIM) for controlled, secure access to data endpoints.
- Implement monitoring and logging for data pipelines and API calls.
Governance, Security, and DevOps
- Implement role-level security (RLS) and workspace governance in Power BI.
- Manage deployment pipelines, dataset certification, and workspace permissions in Power BI Service / Fabric.
- Support data governance through documentation, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
