Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team and play a critical role in supporting and enabling our Data Engineering function. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in database engineering who has evolved into cloud DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering. You’ll be instrumental in building and maintaining the systems that power our data lakehouse architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Data Engineering team to support ETL pipeline deployment, performance, and scalability.
- Build and manage the underlying infrastructure for our data lakehouse architecture.
- Develop automation and self-service workflows to streamline pipeline deployment and platform operations.
- Configure and manage Snowflake environments, including roles, permissions, clusters, and credit usage monitoring.
- Create reusable pipeline templates and jobs using SCHEMA to accelerate Data Engineering workflows.
- Set up and integrate new tools into the data platform ecosystem.
- Monitor query performance and optimize resource provisioning.
- Ensure platform security and compliance with internal and external standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Proven experience transitioning from a DBA/Database Engineer role into Cloud DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake configuration and command-line tools (SQL, Bash, Python).
- Strong understanding of ETL pipelines and how they interact with platform tools.
- Experience with Azure or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Comfortable working in a jack-of-all-trades environment without siloed roles.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data lakehouse architecture and modern data platforms.
- Familiarity with SCHEMA or similar templating frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Passion for building scalable, secure, and user-friendly platforms.
