Lucas Group is working an exclusive search with a privately owned manufacturing organization to find a Senior Network Engineer in the Columbus area.This role would be responsible for the System security, physical/virtual servers and designing drawings/documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors, troubleshoots and addresses performance issues. Recommends redesign and configuration as needed.
  • Maintains and works with Cisco TAC for support of all data center equipment.
  • Manages the data center's daily, technical operations as well as network infrastructure for data, voice and video systems. This includes disaster recovery planning and back-up technologies.
  • Coordinates testing and repairs. Maintains inventory records of hardware and software
  • Develops solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Presents potential solutions and funding needs to leadership.
  • Designs data center and network to meet business capacity with redundancy. Reduces or eliminates outages.
  • Develops design documents and drawings in MS-Visio, Microsoft Office, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
  • Creates and operates by standards and conventions for installation, operations and expected performance and monitoring of systems.
  • Researches vendors, hardware and software products to find the best solution and pricing to meet long-term business needs. 
  • Maintains an awareness of the latest industry trends (such as networking technologies, architectures and best practices) through publications, conferences, workshops and networking.
  • Manages network related projects and tasks from development to installation. Fabricates devices for installation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Guides and may direct technical staff and vendors during new network systems or upgrade installations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires minimum 5 years in advanced network engineering, design and operations with enterprise firewalls, security technologies, complex routing protocols, physical and logical network technologies, enterprise WiFi, VOIP, storage, backup and recovery systems, systems monitoring and project management. 
  • Requires bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering or information technology, or related field of study. 
  • Requires additional knowledge and experience with the following: Cisco IOS and configuring Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and VOIP, Cisco Identity Services Engine and Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireless bridge technologies,VMware
  • Advanced analysis, installation, administration and troubleshooting of a voice, data and video network working with Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Unified Contact Center, IM and Presence technologies
