The Lucas Group is searching for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Marketing Manager to add as a key member of our client’s team in Birmingham, AL. Our client is a is a digitally-focused news and information company that combines the quality journalism that drives daily conversations and engage millions through stories that are crafted to inform, entertain, or inspire, stories that connect our communities to the world around them.

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead the charge to optimize the performance of the website, ads, media buys, marketing automation and email marketing to help fuel business with more qualified leads, organic traffic, and engaged online visitors. You’ll join our marketing team, working across brands and channels as well as across the company - including product marketing and sales leads.

The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for lead generation, marketing automation and email marketing campaigns,  website optimization, SEO, SEM, paid display, paid reporting, analysis, insights, and recommendations for improving user experience and conversion rates via testing and optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategize and execute end-to-end campaigns that make an impact at different stages of the sales cycle
  • Drive brand awareness, engagement, lead generation, closed business, and retention
  • Lead strategy and manage development partners for website and landing page development and optimizations; SEO, UX, running experiments, and conversion optimization tests
  • Plan, present, and execute digital marketing programs (B2B and B2C) across multiple channels with extensive experience in email marketing, organic social and paid media buying on channels like LinkedIn, Facebook, SEM, and display advertising
  • Measure and report performance of website and all digital marketing campaigns
  • Identify trends, insights, and key areas for optimization
  • Develop trigger-based and nurture email tracks that feed back into the digital experience and vice-versa using marketing automation, list segmentation tactics
  • Coordinate with content marketing manager and designer to deploy company newsletters and emails, and develop comprehensive email testing plan to drive optimal results
  • Advise internal stakeholders on nurture strategies, email best practices, and landing page optimization

REQUIREMENTS

· BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, PR, or Journalism is required

  • 5+ years of experience in demand generation, digital marketing or paid media for a B2B and/or B2C company (with longer sales cycles) is required
  • Experience with marketing automation, CRM, and analytic platforms is required
  • Deep experience with digital channels, including email, Google AdWords (Search and Display), Organic Social and Paid Social (LinkedIn and Twitter) is required
  • Experience with website and landing page best practices, including SEO, UX, and testing / optimization methodologies to maximize conversions
  • Nimble and agile team player with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where direction and goals can pivot quickly to meet business objectives
  • Great communication skills
  • Quantitative and data-driven thinking to marketing ideation, planning, and execution
