Our client is a Fortune 500 company specializing in providing services and apparel to businesses worldwide and we are exclusively partnering with them on a Sr. Purchasing Manager role in the Chicago metro. The Sr. Purchasing Manager is responsible for the sourcing, contract negotiation, and purchasing of textiles in addition to managing a small team.
Sr. Purchasing Manager Responsibilities
- Responsible for all strategic sourcing for the entire business unit.
- Ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with the requirements of internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Lead contract negotiations for all fabric categories.
- Identify areas to reduce costs while still meeting delivery and quality expectations.
- Evaluate current supplier base and identify new suppliers.
- Provide mentorship, training, and professional development to a team of direct reports.
- Must be aware of market trends to ensure the business is prepared for potential changes within the categories.
Sr. Purchasing Manager Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in Business, Supply Chain, or another related field.
- At least 7 or more years of procuring apparel, fabrics, textiles or other similar materials.
- Previous management experience.
- Able to travel up to 20%.
